A new survey shows a record 84% of male Air Force Academy cadets believe women belong at the school, up from 78% last year. 33% percent of female cadets say they're not afraid to report sexual assault or harassment. That's up from 22% last year.
The new survey was administered August 31st, with more than
3500 cadets participating.
Last year's survey was the first after a sexual assault scandal forced the academy into the national spotlight in February 2003. The school has since overhauled its top leadership and policies on sexual assault, after female cadets complained they were ignored or punished for reporting abuse.
