It was the first airshow in 5 years at a New Mexico Airport and it was interrupted by tragedy. A Colorado man is, now, dead.
Richard Bobbit, of Parker, was flying an aerobatic plane at the Santa Fe Municipal Airport.
As he was flying the 1993 Sukhoi SU-29, he went into a spin and apparently lost control of the plane.
It crashed about half a mile away from the airport's control tower.
Bobbitt is survived by his wife and 2 children.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
