A town marshal is recovering at a Denver area hospital tonight after an incident which nearly killed him.
The marshal was stabbed 4 times in the town of Stratton which is in eastern Colorado along Interstate 70.
He was stabbed by a 50 year-old man who, authorities say, went into his neighbors house and began throwing objects out into the street.
When the marshal arrived, the man attacked him, stabbing him in the torso, arms, and leg.
The marshal fired back, hitting him in the chest.
The man later died in the hospital.
As for the marshal, he was in serious condition as of Friday.
