A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect this afternoon for most of Southern Colorado. Daytime heating and moisture will combine with a disturbance moving through Colorado to develop numerous thunderstorms. Any one of them will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain. Burn scars and areas that have seen recent heavy rain will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. This FLASH FLOOD WATCH will remain in effect through 6pm Wednesday. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat closely for you the next two days.
David Hernandez and Sugein Cancel-Santiago were arrested for Aggravated Robbery. A third suspect has not been identified, because a warrent for his arrest has not yet been obtained. Police say Hernandez and Cancel-Santiago are responsible for nine home invasions, and that the third suspect took part in about half of them. Hernandez was arrested last night, following another attempted robbery at 4080 Airport Road in Colorado Springs. Police say the victims were able to disarm Hernandez, who then fled. Hernandez was found hiding in the backyard of a nearby house. Hernandez was already wanted on an outstanding $50,000 dollar Robbery warrant, and now faces charges of First Degree Burglary and Assaulting an Officer. The suspects may also face additional charges, in connection with three other cases in August.
