A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
Pay as you go may not be such a foreign concept for Colorado Springs residents in the near future.
Powers Boulevard could be extended further northward but at a price.
Planners may turn the extension into a toll road.
The exisiting portion of Powers Boulevard would stay toll-free. But a segment from Woodmen North to I-25 could be used to charge drivers.
Studies to determine if enough people would pay for the use of the proposed road are currently being conducted.
