Making the ultimate sacrifice, the men and women who died in the line of duty are honored at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial observance.
Thousands come from all over the country and Canada and gather at Memorial Park to remember their fallen heroes.
Saturday's ceremony honors 106 firefighters all over the country, most of whom died in the past year.
Their families each received a flag in their honor.
Michael Ritchie traveled all the way from Toronto to pay tribute to his father.
"It's such a mix of feelings of sadness, of course sadness. He's not there, but at the same time, it's joy he's recognized."
More than 1700 names are on the wall at Memorial Park. The memorial was established 18 years ago.
