Strategy will play an especially key role in operations at the U.S. Air Force Academy during the next year and a half. That's because school officials are trying to strategically relocate parts of the academy hospital during a two-year renovation project.

The $21.5 million plan received approval from Congress last year, after the Air Force said it needed the money to help the hospital deal with increasing demand.

Some 278,000 patients visit 65 doctors at the Air Force Academy hospital annually. Contractors and academy officials are trying to make sure those visits continue with as little disruption as possible.

This marks the first major remodeling project at the hospital in some 40 years. It's slated to be finished in early 2006.
