Suspicious Envelope

By: Associated Press

The suspicious envelope similar to nine others mailed to governors nationwide was intercepted this morning at the Colorado
state Capitol.

Mailroom employees noticed the envelope looked like other rigged
letters, and turned it over to federal investigators without
opening it.

Governor's offices in Montana, Texas, Idaho, Nebraska,
Washington, Utah and Oregon received letters yesterday which were
rigged with matches set to ignite when they were opened.

All were mailed from a maximum security prison in Ely, Nevada.

The Massachusetts and New York governor's offices received
similar letters. The Massachusetts letter wasn't opened, and
authorities in New York say that letter was intercepted during
screening.

No injuries have been reported.
