A U.S. Air Force Academy graduate is among the latest casualties in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Defense Department says 29-year-old Air Force Captain John Boria died Monday from injuries he received in an all-terrain vehicle accident in Doha, Qatar.
Boria was from Tulsa, Oklahoma. A local funeral home spokesman says his body will be brought to Tulsa and then transferred to Colorado Springs.
Boria graduated from a Tulsa-area high school in the early 1990s, then went on to graduate from the prestigious Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
Friends say Boria was a very intelligent, nice young man always willing to help. He is survived by his parents, John and Wanda Boria, and his brother Joe, who is studying to become a minister at a Florida seminary.
