Police are still trying to sort out what exactly took place at a home on the 600 block of Yuma Street in Colorado Springs, which left one person dead and a second injured.
The victim has been identified as Dezmend Reiner, 19, of Colorado Springs. His body was found on the back porch of a home on the 600 block of Yuma St. when police responded to reports of a disturbance.
The coroner said Reiner died from multiple stab wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.
The homeowner, Conrad Goergen, 34, was also injured and taken to the hospital. Police said his injuries are not life threatening.
Police said Tuesday they are trying to identify three other people who should be considered dangerous.
The incident happened late on the night of June 14. Police said the call came in as a home invasion.
Goergen told 11 News the stabbing was self-defense. He said he was watching TV when a group of men kicked in his door. He said they tried to jump him and beat him with a metal pipe. He fought back and one man died.
11 News also spoke to neighbors.
"It could happen to anybody in this neighborhood so it's kind of scary," Ashley Osgood said.
Police say the Violent Crimes Unit is still investigating.
