Police say an early morning shooting is now a double homicide after the baby of one of the victims died.
Quincey Coates, 23, died at the scene at Sharky's Bar in Pueblo. Nicole Vallejos, 28, was rushed to the hospital where doctors delivered her baby, but the child didn't survive. Vallejos' condition has not been released.
The shooting happened at Sharky's Bar on 1549 E. Evans Ave., which is on Pueblo's south side. The suspect reportedly walked into the bar, went right up to the victims and started shooting. Police got the call just after midnight.
When officers got to the scene, Coates was already dead and Vallejos was injured inside.
Police say they believe Vallejos and Coates are a couple and were patrons at the bar.
The suspect went to great lengths to disguise himself from witnesses and surveillance cameras: he was reportedly wearing a mask and a dark hoodie, according to Police All witnesses could say about the suspect beyond what he was wearing was that he was a 5-foot-5 male with a medium build. His age and race/ethnicity are unknown.
