NEW YORK (AP) -- Two of the biggest new shows of the television season were the most popular ones on their networks last week.
The Nielsen ratings company said that the CBS thriller "Person of Interest" had the biggest audience in its young history. Last Thursday's episode was seen by just under 16 million people.
ABC's fairytale "Once Upon a Time" had 9.3 million viewers, the second time it was ABC's top show of the week. The series entered the season with little buzz. Together with "GCB," the two series offer ABC hope for seamlessly replacing "Desperate Housewives," which is in its last season on Sunday nights.
The two top shows of the week were the singing competitions: "American Idol" on Fox and "The Voice" on NBC.
