LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A spokesman for Current TV says a lawsuit by former host Keith Olbermann is false and malicious and will be handled appropriately by the courts.
Christopher Lehane (le-HAYN') says in a written statement that the network will engage its former host's lawsuit in a courtroom where the accusations will be viewed objectively.
The statement takes a swipe at Olbermann, who attacked his former employer in a lawsuit seeking more than $50 million that was filed Thursday in Los Angeles. Lehane's statement says the former "Countdown" host was fired in part for unauthorized absences and disparaging his bosses.
Lehane writes, "We hope Mr. Olbermann understands that when it comes to the legal process, he is actually required to show up."
