After seven years of marriage, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated.
A publicist issued a brief statement on behalf of the couple today, saying the two actors will "remain committed to their family."
Witherspoon and Phillippe have two children together, seven-year-old Ava and three-year-old Deacon.
Witherspoon won the best actress Academy Award in March for her role as June Cash in "Walk The Line." Phillippe was in the ensemble cast of the best picture winner, "Crash." He's currently featured in the World War II film "Flags of Our Fathers."
The couple married in 1999, the same year they co-started in the movie "Cruel Intentions."
