FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) -- John Travolta's attorney says the actor's late 16-year-old son was well supervised at the family's Bahamas vacation home before he was found collapsed in a bathroom.
The police superintendent in the Bahamas has said a caretaker found Jett Travolta unconscious in a bathroom Friday morning. The teen was later pronounced dead at a Freeport hospital. In a statement, the superintendent also says Jett had last been seen entering the bathroom Thursday.
But Travolta's attorney says that leaves "the impression that the boy was unsupervised." Michael McDermott says he doesn't believe that Jett was in the bathroom for a substantial amount of time. McDermott also says there were two nannies with the teen for the entire evening.
McDermott says John Travolta is trying to complete funeral arrangements and hopes to fly his son's body to Florida by midweek. Bahamas authorities are planning to do an autopsy tomorrow.
