Police say Paris Hilton has been released from jail after being arrested on cocaine possession charges in Las Vegas.

Police spokesman Marcus Martin says the socialite was arrested after police stopped the car she was in late Friday night on a Las Vegas street after they noticed what they suspected to be marijuana smoke coming from it.

Martin says Hilton was found to be in the possession of cocaine, but he didn't know how much.

She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Police watch commander Lt. Wayne Holman said Hilton was released later on her own recognizance. He didn't have any details about a court date on the charge.

We all know nothing is going to happen to her, well, maybe a tiny slap on the wrist. Just look at what every other celebrity gets.....nothing! I personally don't see the big fascination using drugs but hey, that's just me. I don't use and don't hang with people that do. Hell, I don't even smoke pot, does that make me lame or a goody goody? Just glad to see we have such honorable people to look up to out there....NOT!!

That is how she stays skinny as a bone. Pathetic.

LMAO. Too bad she did not over dose. Her and Lindsay Lohan need to just OD. ....

Hey Bill! I do not smoke but I do not see weed necessarily leading to harder stuff. In the case of those Hollywood types, the harder stuff is very chic. I'm guessing that most pot smokers are not concerned with chic and laugh at the Paris Hilton types, too.

Oooo, oooo, oooo, hey let's legalize the use of pot right away...we know of course that it DOESN'T LEAD to "hard drugs", right??? Hello dummies, can you still parrot (a person who sedulously echoes another's words) that nonsensical, stupid argument??? This diphead is a jerk. She's a terrible example for our young people who unfortunately put these idiot "celebrities" on pedestals and just adore them. And, our young copy this hollywood bunch of dummies' use of drugs which they don't even hide. So, find her guilty of the maximum penalty and send her away for 2-5 years minimum!! Now, I'm going to get ready for the pro-drug knuckleheads' responses to me with their stupid comments and not-so-nice personal attacks due to my anti-drug position. So, bring it on and let me have it....ha, ha. IF there are any who agree with me, I would appreciate your comments and loving support!!

I don't see a swat team breaking down her door and shooting her chiuauah. That only happens to poor people who possess a small amount of marijuana. Our war on drugs is just as phony as our war on terrorism.

To Larry in Canada...You speak like you have first hand knowledge of what people get, who have no expensive lawyers...So you have a cocaine charge...against yourself?
