Young people are still watching television shows--but not necessarily on TV.
A report by the New York Times, based on research collected by Nielsen, says that Americans 12-34 are eschewing traditional TV watching for streaming shows on their computers and phones. Indicating a generational divide, this same report says adults over 35 are spending more time in front of the TV.
This research, which will be released by Nielsen Thursday, is the first significant evidence that new forms of media are challenging the traditional forms of media consumption.
