And most of them don't recognize the symptoms of the life threatening diseases until it's too late.
So we've got a way that you can get yourself checked out for free.
Penrose Cancer Center will offer free oral cancer screenings.
In observance of the 16th annual Oral, Head Neck Cancer Awareness Week on April 17, from 4 to 6 p.m.
You do need to register, because appointments will fill up quickly.
It will be held at the Penrose Pavilion on the Penrose Hospital campus. Call 719-776-6918 or visit penrosecancercenter.org to make an appointment.
