Colorado students are one step closer to being required to get more daily exercise in school.

State lawmakers have reached an agreement on a bill that would require 30 minutes of daily exercise to help address childhood obesity. Under the bill, recess, field trips and health classes will all count as exercise.

The bill could soon be headed to the governor’s desk, once the full House and Senate take formal votes on the agreement.
