Colorado Blood Bank Supply Dips to Dangerous Levels

Bonfils Blood Center says they need people to donate blood and help replenish the state's blood supply before the summer season starts.

Blood donations tend to drop during the summer months, but the blood center says a combination of low donation levels since March and a higher demand from hospitals has resulted in a dangerous situation.

Bonfils says they need people of all blood types to donate in order to get the state's blood supply "back to a stable level."

There are several blood drives taking place across Colorado in the next few days.
