Colorado Insurance Commissioner Marcy Morrison is stepping down and will be replaced by an interim director.

Gov. Bill Ritter appointed Morrison to head the Colorado Division of Insurance in 2007. The former legislator from El Paso County also was mayor of Manitou Springs, a school board member and a county commissioner.

John Postolowski will serve as interim insurance commissioner starting Wednesday. He is currently the deputy commissioner of finance and administration at the Division of Insurance.
