Some Southern Colorado kids are learning how to keep their heart healthy through jump rope.
One Jump Ahead, a competitive jump rope team from Colorado Springs, performed tricks for elementary students at St. Peter's Catholic School in Monument.
The message is that jumping rope is an inexpensive exercise that people of all ages can do, and it's a great way to get in shape.
"Our goal is to make sure that kids support each other, that they're doing something fun, that they find something that they enjoy so that they can be healthy for a lifetime," said Lindsey Wallace, coach of the One Jump Ahead team.
One Jump Ahead is made up of students from Woodmen Valley Church in Colorado Springs.
A couple of the team members will be headed to London this summer to compete in the World Championships.
