It's a common ailment in kids... RSV. In fact, according to Web MD, most kids have been affected by this virus by age two. Right now, it's moving around the southwest part of town.
That's according to Dr. Steven Reich with Colorado Springs Health Partners. The symptoms of RSV are very similar to a bad cold. You'll notice a fever, coughing, a runny nose, a sore throat and an earache.
In most cases, these symptoms can be treated at home. Bring down the fever, have your child get plenty of rest and give them lots of fluids. But if your child has trouble breathing or their symptoms get worse, talk to your doctor. Dr. Reich had two kids who had to be admitted to the hospital. So keep a close eye on your child.
