Lance Armstrong is launching Livestrong.com, a for-profit venture designed to motivate people to start living healthier.
Livestrong.com goes beyond the mission of Armstrong's cancer foundation by offering information ranging from diet and exercise to marathon training to diabetes and other medical-related issues. It also puts users in touch with others who have similar fitness goals or experiences.
The creators of the site surveyed about 2,500 American adults and found that 86 percent of them had at least tried to improve their overall health. Less than half considered themselves successful, with many citing lack of motivation as a key reason.
