The new Penrose Saint Francis Hospital on the east side of Colorado Springs is getting a personal touch from the community.
Sunday hundreds of people attended an event at the hospital, that is still under construction. They wrote messages, warm wishes, prayers and blessings on cards. Once all the cards are complete they will be put inside the walls, or framed in patient rooms.
Hospital officials say this is a way future patients can be surrounded by thoughts of the community.
Along with everyone who came out Sunday, more than 450 local faith based organizations will have their members fill out cards, which will also be added.
The hospital is expected to open it's door in August.
