Tuesday's Primary Still Scheduled; Help For Evacuees

Despite the Waldo Canyon Fire, Tuesday's primary will still move ahead as planned.

For those who have been displaced, El Paso County will issue replacement ballots. All must be returned to the Clerk and Recorder's Office by 7 p.m. Below is a release from the county:

For voters who have been displaced by the Waldo Canyon Fire and who still need to cast their ballot in the June 26 Primary Election, the El Paso County Clerk & Recorder will issue them a replacement ballot. Voters just need to appear in person at the Clerk’s Office and the staff will assist them with the process for receiving a ballot. If the voter cannot appear in person, please contact the Election Department and the staff will work with individuals on a case by case basis to get them a ballot.

Voters can come to any one of the four Clerk & Recorder’s Offices to receive a mail ballot.
The Clerk & Recorder’s branch offices are:
o Main – Citizens Service Center – 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road
o North – 8830 N. Union Blvd (Research Pkwy and Union Blvd)
o Southeast – 5650 Industrial Place (Powers Blvd and Airport Rd)
o Downtown – Centennial Hall – 200 S. Cascade Ave (Cascade and Vermijo)
All Clerk & Recorder’s Offices will be open today from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For this election there are three additional walk-in ballot drop-off locations that are available on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Additional ballot drop-off locations:
o East – Charles C. “Chuck” Brown Transportation and Environment Complex – 3275 Akers Drive
o South – City of Fountain City Hall – 116 South Main Street
o North – Town of Palmer Lake – City Clerk’s Office – 42 Valley Crescent. On Monday, June 25, this location is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Voters can also contact the Election Department directly at 719-575-VOTE (8683) or by email: elections@elpasoco.com. Voters also can verify the status of their ballot at www.GoVoteColorado.com.
