Tancredo Returning To GOP After Failed Gov. Bid

Former Republican congressman Tom Tancredo, who quit the party last year to run as a third-party candidate for Colorado governor, is headed back to the GOP.

Tancredo said he is coming back to the Republican Party "because they're the only game in town." He told The Associated Press he plans to rejoin the party this week.

Tancredo said his decision to join the American Constitution Party was "opportunistic," but he and the party had an understanding that he would not stay with the party.

GOP state chairman Dick Wadhams, who clashed publicly with Tancredo over criticism of the Republican Party, said everyone is welcome to join the Colorado GOP. He refused to say whether he thought Tancredo would be welcomed.

Now if we could only get a moron in office to actualy work as hard as this guy just trying to get in the door. What a looser jumping all over the party to try and get in, he must really be hard up for some special interest monies. What we need to do is get just some ordinary citizens not career politicals and put them in office and just see where that gets us again. We did this once and arguable Regan did one of the best jobs in office and at stabilizing and growing our economy. We need to get Regan, The"Duke", Patton, resurected and let them back at the controls

I agree with you Jim, but he can register R without the consent of anyone. The bigger picture is he is no longer relevant. His run at 'guv' status was all about him, and not about any party or any ideal. He's long gone in terms of being a viable candidate for any post. Go away TOM!!!!!!!!!

If they take him back we need to change leaders in our party. He may have helped loose the election for the Republicans.
