DENVER (AP) -- Tom Tancredo has decided no more Mr. Nice Guy.

The American Constitution Party's candidate for governor is going after his opponents -- both Democrat and Republican -- with ads that he hopes will take them out in the waning days of Colorado's gubernatorial campaign.

Tancredo's campaign spent about $60,000 on the ads, which are airing more than a dozen times a day on some radio and television stations. Tancredo's campaign spokeswoman Bay Buchanan says the ads are designed to reach voters in western and southern Colorado.

Colorado State University political science professor Robert Duffy says the only way Tancredo can catch Democrat John Hickenlooper in the polls is to keep taking votes from Republican candidate Dan Maes.
