Tancredo Ads Go After Maes and Hickenlooper

DENVER (AP) -- Tom Tancredo has decided no more Mr. Nice Guy.

The American Constitution Party's candidate for governor is going after his opponents -- both Democrat and Republican -- with ads that he hopes will take them out in the waning days of Colorado's gubernatorial campaign.

Tancredo's campaign spent about $60,000 on the ads, which are airing more than a dozen times a day on some radio and television stations. Tancredo's campaign spokeswoman Bay Buchanan says the ads are designed to reach voters in western and southern Colorado.

Colorado State University political science professor Robert Duffy says the only way Tancredo can catch Democrat John Hickenlooper in the polls is to keep taking votes from Republican candidate Dan Maes.

Teri, Hickenlooper said he wasnt going to do negative attack ads, and so far his strategy is working, he still has more votes than Tancredo or Maes combined. My big concern is if Maes doesnt get the 10%, the Republicans will forfeit their 2012 electoral votes in Colorado. that could only mean bad news for everyone, no matter which party you side with. Its a self destructive mentality. People like eddie will only realize that when they get back on their meds...

It is about time we finally have a candidate, someone whom has lived and served in this state and knows Colorado. Too many transplants from the east and west coast are hurting Colorado. Long time residents and natives should vote for Tom Tancredo and get back to Colorado values.

I guess most of the people reading this rag are stupid Liberals. Or 'Independents'. John, 'oh he lost my vote'--whatcha gonna do now? Vote Obama's Buttboy into office? Or not vote and throw away our only weapon against Hickenlooper pulling Colorado to the Left and into the hole for four years? Tancredo must do what he can do to win at this point. He must pull votes from everyone left hanging onto Dan Maes for some incomprehensible reason. We must defeat Hickenlooper.

If he is really so close to Hickenlooper in the polls, why aren't there any ads against him from the left? They would be all over him, look at what they are doing to Buck. They have teh money. He thinks the voters are stupid and buying into his delusions.

Another negative campaign. Oh well, He just lost my vote. They should have learned from McCain, what the results of a negative campaign are.

hdhouse, I ask that everyday. Lets not forget this guy went to a tea party rally and actually said the only reason Obama won the election is because they dont screen for people who cant read or speak english.

i assume that mr. tancredo is running for dog-catcher somewhere? right? how can colorado residents have a fool like this on the ballot and claim to be responsible US citizens?

There is only one percent separating Tancredo and Hickenlooper (44%/43%)now with Maes is down to 9%. Hickenlooper's number has been frozen at 44% for weeks now. I think Hickenlooper has just about all he's going to get, but Tancredo will gain the bulk of the rest.
