Primary Ballots Mailed For Uniformed And Overseas Voters

The first ballots to be mailed by the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder were sent Friday to members of the military and other citizens living overseas. 1,350 of the ballots were sent out.

Under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, the ballots must be in the mail no later than the 45th day before the Primary Election. The purpose is to allow additional time for members of the military and other overseas residents to receive and return their ballots. They’re also given an extra eight days for the clerk’s office to receive their ballot.

Military and overseas voters could also choose to receive their ballots by email, fax or online via an encrypted link.

These ballots are part of the June 26 primary election.
