OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -- Dealing with a slow-moving economy, President Barack Obama is imploring voters to stick with him through tough times while promising that better days lie ahead. He's trying to energize supporters and raise money Tuesday in Maryland and in Philadelphia.
In speeches and in campaign ads these days, Obama gives only a brief overview of his first term. He points to the rescue of the auto industry, the death of Osama bin Laden and the return of troops. He has also aired ads geared to remind voters of his efforts for veterans and the elderly.
The scant attention on first-term priorities such as the health care overhaul reflects mixed reviews from the public. Republicans pinned the labels "job-killing" and "big government" on the health care plan.
