The first debate between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney will be held at the University of Denver. It will be moderated by PBS anchor Jim Lehrer on October 3.

That debate will focus on domestic policy. The next meeting will be a town-hall format and the final debate will be focused on foreign policy.

For the first time in two decades, women will moderate two of the subsequent debates. CNN’s Candy Crowley will moderate one of the meetings between the presidential candidates, while ABC’s Martha Raddatz will moderate a debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

The debate moderated by Raddatz will focus on both domestic and foreign policy.

Editorials and prominent politicians, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, had urged the commission to pick a woman to moderate at least one of the presidential debates.

CBS’ Bob Schieffer will moderate the other debate.
