Mayoral Run-off Ballot Position Decided

The ballot position for the Mayoral run-off election have been decided.

Steve Bach will be placed on the ballot ahead of Richard Skorman. That was decided in a drawing Thursday morning.

The run-off election, like the April election, will be a mail ballot election to vote for either Steve Bach or Richard Skorman.

In a news release, the City of Colorado Springs spokeswoman states that ballots are tentatively scheduled to be mailed to all active voters on April 27. The ballot mailing window is April 22-May 2. All ballots will be due by 7 p.m. on May 17. All of the drop-off locations utilized for the April 5 election will be used again. New voters have until April 18 to register to vote. Inactive voters can re-activate their status up until polls close on May 17.

Hey "Duh" ... how can you claim that Steve Bach will perpetuate a problem he had nothing to do with? If anything, it's Dick Skorman who is most likely to perpetuate ongoing problems in our Colorado Springs City Government. Skorman has a history of being in the old regime and should not be brought back. I'm surprised Skorman is even running let alone admitting he served for nine years! I didn't vote for either candidate and am so very glad for the opportunity to make my vote count now that Skorman is in the runoff. My family is voting for Bach ;)

Which "Brainiac" did the math. Given the number of candidates, it was virtually IMPOSIBLE for ANY candidate to receive 51 % of the vote! May as well have thrown a half million into the gutter and just walked away. THIS is the esscence of the stupidity that is already pervasive in the "decision" makers in this city. BTW... Steve Bach will only perpetuate this serious flaw in reasonable thought!!! Good luck Colorado Springs.

"OH! We have $500,000 to waste! Let's do it!" That's nothing new. This city is as crooked as a winding mountain road and what you want doesn't matter. Nothing has changed. Your votes - I don't believe they matter UNLESS you go along with what "they" want!

fixing a server clock is a couple of mouse clicks, Ma'am. It doesn't require a lot of effort, analysis, or technical, what about finding out why we "legally" have to have a runoff election...? As in a CRS Statute citation...

I think we need the State monitor to come back for this runoff election as well. There is a real concern of "activists" in this town since 2008 that could have a questionable effect on the election. After all, it's been proven there are 12,000 illegals registered to vote in Colorado and 5,000 of them voted in 2008. Makes you wonder how many dead people also still vote.

$500,000 thou for a second election. That could water how many of our parks? Turn on how many of our streetlights? Fix how many of our potholes? Hire how many more police?......You get where I'm going. What a complete waste.

We have been having some issues with our time stamp over these past few days, so some of the times showing on our Website may not be accurate. We have technicians working on this problem.

What makes me mad is that WE are paying 3 people to sit at 5 fire stations (15 people a day) to collect ballots, every day for 2 weeks. This is a complete waste of money. One week maybe............or one or two locations. But 5, plus the DMV, etc........we are just giving $$ away--probably enough to fix the bathrooms at the parks or get the rest of the street lights turned on.
