Colorado Springs Municipal Elections Roundup

At the end of Tuesday night, Colorado Springs has a new city council, with voters getting rid of several incumbents on the ballot.

Last-minute voters were dropping off ballots right up until the 7 p.m. deadline.

More than 75,000 people cast their votes -- that's higher than normal for an election like this one.

The new council members already have some strong ideas about how the city should be moving forward.

Here's a look at the new city council as it stands right now, but again, these aren't final results. As you can see -- some of these races are still pretty close.

The winners right now are: Don Knight, Joel Miller, Keith King, Helen Collins, Jill Gaebler and Andres Pico.

Voters also decided not to give Colorado Springs City Council members a big raise.

A measure on the ballot would have taken them from $6,200 a year to $48,000 -- but voters struck it down.

Supporters of the pay raise said it would have encouraged more people to run.

The combined pay raise would have cost taxpayers nearly $400,000 dollars a year.

Voters said yes to the only other issue on the ballot this year. It allows the city to spend more money on renovating and maintaining parks. The money comes from a sales tax voters had already approved back in the 1990s.

We will keep updating all these races as new results come in throughout the night.
