Someone is painting hate symbols on political campaign signs around town.

"666" was spray-painted on a Mitt Romney sign near the intersection of Fountain and Aeroplaza. Just a mile and a half away, another sign was vandalized. This time a Nazi Swastika symbol was spray painted on it. That sign was near the intersection of Airport and Powers.

11 News asked local folks what they think about the graffiti.

“I definitely am disgusted by it. The whole swastika sign is just hate,” Lisa Jacobson said.

“I just think it’s awful. I don’t know why somebody would do something like that,” Derella Lenz said.

“World War II was a horrible tragedy and that symbol evokes that kind of hate,” Ron Rinck said.

11 News spoke with the El Paso County Republicans Thursday night. They say they knew about the sign with the swastika and sent someone to take that sign down but they were unaware of the sign with the 666. They now plan to file a police report.
