TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa is a hot property for the Republicans this year. And that doesn't just mean the 90-degree temperatures in August that will begin to sauté national convention delegates every time they step outdoors.

There's political heat here, too.

The site of the Republican National Convention at the end of this month is home to the largest concentration of swing voters in a must-win state for presidential candidates.

About a quarter of the state's registered voters are in the Tampa TV market and local media coverage will be wall-to-wall for at least a week. Add the Orlando TV market, and the area encompasses 44 percent of all Florida voters.

The GOP convention is being held Aug. 27-30. Democrats hold their convention the following week in Charlotte.
