Fact Check: GOP Field Flubs Big And Small

Republican presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry have made notable mistakes in speeches along the campaign trail.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Newt Gingrich says he would sign legislation repealing Democrats' health care and Wall Street overhauls when he takes office on Jan. 21, 2013.

But the Constitution the former House speaker constantly cites during his presidential campaign says the transition of power takes place on Jan. 20.

Gingrich's flub on Wednesday is just the latest example of candidates making missteps as they seek the presidential nomination. A day earlier, Texas Gov. Rick Perry suggested the voting age is 21, not 18.

Gingrich aides say Gingrich would take power on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, but would have his public Inauguration celebrations the next day. They note President Ronald Reagan did the same in 1985.

Even so, it does little to help a GOP field struggling with the facts.

Lets see Obama said 57 states, but meant 47 and just recently he referred to the British Embassy as the "English" Embassy. So if you are going to slam Republicans for their gaffes, lets be fair and acknowledge Democrat's blunders. Perhaps this is why I really don't watch you guys.

Ah, Jan 21 2013 is a Monday, so Newt is correct, unless they conduct the ceremony on Sunday? He will take office on the 21st.

So where is the fact checking on the leftist media darling Obama? Or is Hawaii actually part of Asia, and what about all of the promises he made while running? You can only blame the previous guy for so long... Or should only be able to do so unless there are a bunch of brain dead, lazy, self important, entitled, out of work idots who support you. Dark time are ahead.
