Colorado GOP chairman says Rick Santorum has won state presidential caucuses.

With 99 percent reporting, the GOP is reporting that Santorum has received 40.2 percent of the vote. Mitt Romney, the next nearest competitor, got 34.9 percent.

Santorum also won the Missouri primary and Minnesota Republican caucuses Tuesday, raising questions about Romney's appeal with conservatives at the core of the Republican Party.

Both Santorum and Romney made last-minute visits to Colorado on the morning before the caucuses.

Caucus attendance statewide was about 65,000. That was down from 70,000 four years ago, when Colorado shared the spotlight with more states on a Super Tuesday date. Republican leaders had predicted a turnout of 70,000 to 80,000 people.

The lower turnout could be a result of a few inches of fresh snow that fell Tuesday in some parts of the state. But Republicans saw lower turnout in all three states making presidential decisions Tuesday.

The decision by voters in Colorado's caucus is not binding during the election process. UCCS political science professor Josh Dunn says it's mainly about momentum.

Ron Paul doesn't have a snowball's chance... It's obvious by the lack of support from VOTERS. Now, if all the pot heads did something besides smoke and post here, you know, actually leave the house to do something besides buy their MMJ, he could have a chance....but alas, pot heads are lazy...

If you watched any of the debates, all of the candidates agreed with Ron Paul then tried to just regurgitate what he said, just in their own way. None of them, other than Paul, have actually laid out any plans to improve our country. They just use the "I can beat Obama" sthick and people actually believe them. Paul = actual change, others =more of the same

Its just too bad that people don't do any actual research on the candidates. They just blindly follow whatever the media tells them. If folks were better informed and truly understood monetary policy, the constitution, and states rights, they would see what a horrible place our country has become. Then we would be able to get back to the prosperous, free, and dominate country we use to be

"...they would see what a horrible place our country has become." You are free to leave at anytime. Perfect? No. Problems? Yes, but horrible? LOL, why don't you move to Egypt, or Syria, or....oh the list is so long, why waste the space.

I'm disappointed in the turn out, I don't believe Santorum has any hope of defeating Obama. We'll just have to wait and see.

I need to apologize for making that immature comment. I don't know what came over me. My common sense must have left me to find a new owner. Maybe someone can help me find it?
