U.S. Olympics fans will now get to see both top teams compete: the Republicans and the Democrats.
John McCain's campaign says it's planning to run $ 6 million worth of TV ads on NBC broadcast and cable channels during the Beijing Summer Games.
He's committing the cash just a few days before opening ceremonies on Friday -- and a few weeks after Barack Obama's campaign signaled its intention to buy some 5 million dollars' worth of Olympics ads.
Such massive ad buys give both candidates wide exposure before the Democratic National Convention, to be held the last week in August, and the Republican National Convention, to be held the first week in September.
The plans were first reported by Advertising Age's Web site.
