Obama Beats McCain In Europe Donations

Barack Obama's dominance in the race for campaign cash extends across the Atlantic Ocean.

The Democratic presidential candidate has received roughly seven times more money from declared U.S. donors living in Germany, France and Britain than has Republican rival John McCain.

Federal reports show Obama has taken in at least one million dollars from Americans in the three countries. McCain has raised at least $150,000.

Some of the people who've given say the huge disparity reflects a dislike of President Bush and the prospect of another Republican succeeding rather than enthusiasm for Obama. While Bush is unpopular at home, hostility toward him appears to be even stronger among U.S. donors overseas.

Obama has been visiting with world leaders on his overseas trip.
