Bush Lifts Executive Ban On Offshore Drilling; Obama Is Critical

Barack Obama doesn't think much of President Bush's decision to lift an executive ban on offshore drilling.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee says it will "merely prolong" what he calls "the failed energy policies we have seen from Washington for thirty years."

Obama instead argues for helping consumers with a second economic stimulus package including energy rebates. He also has proposed stepped-up efforts to develop alternative fuels and more fuel-efficient automobiles.
