Voter registration is expected to reach record numbers in this Presidential Election Year.
The El Paso County Clerk & Recorder’s Office encourages all eligible citizens to register to vote now.
In order to vote in the Colorado State Primary Election on August 12, you must be registered to vote by July 14 and declare a party affiliation. Only voters registered as Republican or Democrat can vote in the Primary.
Unaffiliated voters wishing to participate in the Primary Election are encouraged to affiliate with the Republican or Democratic Party by July 14. In order to vote in the General Election on November 4, you must be registered to vote by October 6.
It also is important that voters maintain accurate voter registration records. If there has been any change in your address or other personal data, it needs to be updated in your voter record.
For the convenience of citizens, the Clerk & Recorder’s Office operates Election Kiosks at both Chapel Hills Mall and the Citadel Mall between 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (Monday-Saturday).
Forms needed to register to vote, update an elector’s address, change party affiliation and apply for a Mail-In Ballot are available. Forms may be completed at the kiosk and left with the Election Department representative at the kiosk or they can be mailed to the Election Department at P.O. Box 2007, Colorado Springs, CO 80901.
At Chapel Hills Mall, the kiosk is located on the upper level near the Motor Vehicle Office, in the Dillard’s wing. The Citadel Mall kiosk is in the lower level, Macy’s wing.
Additionally, you may visit any of the three locations of the Clerk & Recorder’s Office for voter registration services, Centennial Hall, Powers Boulevard Branch, and Chapel Hills Mall Branch.
Beginning June 2, all three office locations will return to a 5-day workweek, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. During the month of May, the Centennial and Powers offices operate Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Chapel Hills Mall is the only office open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
