With the Republican nomination effectively wrapped up, John McCain is set to meet with federal officials about U.S. Secret Service protection.
His campaign aides made the disclosure Friday. That's a day after the head of the Secret Service discussed McCain's lack of security protection with U.S. lawmakers.
McCain has previously said he's not interested in Secret Service protection. He said it would interfere with the personal approach he prefers on the campaign trail.
