iPads Stolen From Local School

Police are trying to track down some burglars who broke into a local school and stole thousands of dollars worth of electronics. It happened at Pikes Peak Prep Charter School over Christmas break.

Police say someone broke into the school and stole 60 iPads that the school had recently bought for their students.

Back in September, 11 News told you about the school purchasing the iPads. The idea was to give students a chance to become familiar with this latest technology. All 50 high school students were given an iPad to help them with their school work. The principal at Pikes Peak Prep did not want to do an interview with us about the theft, but police tell us it happened on December 30 and all 60 iPads were stolen.

They are hoping some surveillance video will help them solve this crime. They also have the serial numbers of each stolen iPad, which means the devices are traceable.

If you have any information about this burglary you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. Your tip could earn you a cash reward.
