Colorado Springs police are searching for a man who held up a woman at gunpoint.

Around 8:30 Wednesday night, a woman was walking from the trailer court on the 5100 block of Airport Road to the nearby Loaf and Jug near Airport Road and Airport Creek Point. A man approached her, pointing a gun, and stole the woman’s wallet from her purse. The suspect fled the scene on foot with the wallet in hand. Despite setting up a large containment area and deploying a K-9 unit, police were unable to locate the suspect.

The man has been described as Hispanic, standing about 5-foot-8, with a thin mustache. He was wearing a large and puffy dark-colored jacket, making his build hard to determine. The man was also wearing a black beanie and dark jeans.

Anyone with any information that may help police solve this crime are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

Diane, sorry for the comments that ignorant people make on here. People are always so quick to pass judgment and never know what they are talking about. Unfortunately that area of town is know for crime and drugs, so of course small minded people of this town, think that every one in that area are up to know good. There are good law abiding citizen that also live there and are just as fed up with the crime as everyone else. There are bad things that happen in all parts of this town, from the south to the north and even the Broadmoor, it just not always made public. A victim should not have judgement passed against them, they are not the criminals.
