Police say a woman is safe after a reported assault and abduction attempt Thursday morning.

According to police, around 4 a.m., a woman was waiting for a cab at a Conoco gas station on Galley Road and North Academy when a man drove up to her in a truck and forced her in at knife point. The woman told officers that he drove east into a nearby neighborhood, where she was able to escape. He then allegedly caught back up to her and attacked her, hitting her in the head and kicking her. The woman managed to get away, and raced to McDonalds for help.

The suspect has been described as a Hispanic man, unknown age, with a shaved head and thin mustache. He reportedly was driving in a maroon Dodge truck. Anyone with any information on the suspect or this incident is asked to call police, or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP for anonymity.
