Colorado Springs police are looking for a man suspected of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her.

Here's how police describe what happened between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, November 24:

The woman told police she was walking to her home on Brookside Avenue when the man forced her at gunpoint into his truck. He then drove up Highway 24 to the Chipita Park area where she was sexually assaulted.

Police then say the man who took her drove her back to South Nevada Avenue and let her go, not far from where she lives.

11 News spoke with some people who work nearby and think they've seen the victim before in passing. They said it's unsettling to hear this happened in their neighborhood.

"I don't like it. We normally don't have that type of problem around here," said Barbara, an employee of a business in the area. "It hurts. I've lived in this neighborhood for 60 years."

Here's what police are saying about the suspect:

He’s white, about 50 years old. His hair is gray, and receding in a “horse-shoe” pattern. He’s driving a bright blue pickup truck, early 2000s model, with a bench-type seat extending across the cab.

Police report the victim could not remember if that truck had Colorado license plates.

If you know anything what happened call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. You don't have to give your name.
