A 19-year-old was victim of an armed robbery Monday night. Police are now searching for the men believed to be involved.
Witnesses told police that they drove by the scene just after 10 p.m. Monday night and saw the victim and suspects on the corner of South Carefree and Avondale. The victim’s hands were in the air as he was being robbed at gunpoint. According to officers, the victim had crashed his bike shortly before the robbery, and was walking it down the street when the suspects accosted him. Police say the suspects fled towards North Murray when the witnesses drove past. A K-9 Unit was dispatched, but was unable to track the suspects down.
The suspects have been described as black men in their late teen or early 20s, both about 5-foot-10 with thin builds. Both were wearing hoodies; one was dressed in a gray hoodie with stripes and the other wore a dark-colored hoodie. Both men were carrying handguns.
