Police are searching for a man who robbed a Walgreens pharmacy Thursday night.
A man was witnessed browsing around a Walgreens on the 1900 block of South Chelton for half an hour, when police say he suddenly jumped through the pharmacy window and threatened the clerk with a gun. The suspect demanded “all the oxycodone,” and the clerk complied. The suspect then fled the store, last seen heading towards the Bally’s Fitness Center nearby. A K-9 unit tracked the suspect to an area behind the gym, where police believe he got into a vehicle and drove off.
Witnesses told police that the suspect was exhibiting suspicious behavior prior to the robbery, sporting a wig and covering his face with a rag to mask his face. The suspect, a black man in his 20s, was also described as tall, about 6-foot-2. Along with the wig, he was dressed in a black jacket, black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to notify police, or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
