According to police, the victims were closing up the Bingo Depot, located on the 3400 block of N. Carefree Circle, when they were robbed by two armed men in ski masks. No one was injured, but all of their Bingo winnings were stolen.

One or two security guards should be hired for their bingo sessions. It is horrible that volunteers are unprotected when all they are doing is raising money for kids, vets, diseases, etc.

Duh Ya Think, I think they meant that the thieves were the cancer, not that the thieves had cancer.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. We feel very blessed that none of our volunteers were injured, and we are looking into ways to protect our volunteers and prevent this from happening in the future.

Friends and I were JUST talking about 'what if' last week! That's crazy! I am SO sad. It's unreal. It won't stop me from going!

This was bound to happen sooner or later, it was just a matter of time. The people who volunteer to work Bingo do so in order to help pay for their children's activities. They are not trained on how to defend against robberies or other crimes. They are not paid to work at the Bingo hall. The money they earn goes towards helping their kids, so the people who robbed them actually robbed their children. This will make it more difficult for other people to want to volunteer to work Bingo in the future.

OMG! That is crazy I was there last night. I hope they catch them. But this will not stop me from supporting our local kids and vets and I hope this doesn't affect the community's support. So sad.

The sad thing is that these people were working Bingo to raise money for a children's athletic team! This is going to make it hard for them to want to continue to raise money for their children in this way. How disgusting!

It's getting pretty bad when crooks target people's bingo winnings. The scuzzballs are probably believers in "economic justice" or in other words "what's yours is mine".
