Three robberies on the Springs' east side in the span of four hours have left police investigating whether or not there is a connection.

The first two robberies occurred within 13 minutes of each other, while the third happened almost four hours later, about four and a half miles from where the second robbery took place.

At 1:20 a.m., police were called to the Timberlane Apartments on the 3900 block of Bijou after two people reported being mugged by a slender black man. Two or three other men were spotted nearby, but did not approach the victims. More on that robbery can be found by clicking here.

At 1:33 a.m., two suspects forced a man out of his car and ordered him to lay on the road while they rummaged through his vehicle and stole various items. The victim spotted a third man while lying on the road. He only got a good look at one of the suspects, whose description was similar to that of the one involved in the Timberlane Apartments robbery less than 20 minutes earlier. The robbery occurred on the 2600 block of Dale. More information about that robbery can be found here.

Then at 5:10 a.m., a man reported being robbed at gunpoint while walking on Delta Drive towards Chelton. According to the victims' account, a black man with dreadlocks jumped out of a black 4-door sedan and approached him from behind, then aimed a gun at the back of the victim's head. After stealing personal items, the suspect got back into the sedan and drove off. The sedan reportedly headed in a northbound direction.

Police are now investigating any link between the three robberies. If you have any information on any of these crimes, call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
